A glamorous vintage dressing gown robe by Flora Nikrooz from Neiman Marcus adorned with black soutache braid and a lovely coiled decoration with tassels at the waist.

Black velvet or velveteen bodice and skirt with black satin lapels and cuffs. The dressing gown is heavily embellished with beautiful soutache braid over the front bodice, back and sleeves of the robe. The inside of the dressing gown bodice and back is lined with black satin as well.  The velveteen in the skirt already has a backing on it so no lining was necessary there.

Two pockets in the seams. Hook & eye for closure at the waist where the coiled decoration & tassels are. I have lightened some of the photos so the detail may be seen better as it is difficult to see detailing on black fabric. Long sleeves with satin turned up cuffs.

Absolutely gorgeous with so much detail which is never seen in today's robes. Very glamorous and perfect for so many occasions.

Size: Medium but should fit several sizes so go by the measurements & remember to allow room for movement

Bust: 38 unstretched since velveteen does not stretch
Shoulder to shoulder: 14-1/2
Sleeve from neck: 26 - 27
Waist: all the way around 32; If it is fastened with attached hook and eye it is 27". If you need it larger at the waist, you can move the bottom part of the hook and eye over closer to the edge of the robe because there is 4-1/2" from the edge of the robe to where the hook is. (See last photo) So that would give you approximately 3-1/2" - 4" more room at the waist depending on where you moved it closer to the edge. The last photo shows the edge of the robe and the bottom part of the hook and eye on the right hand side. The measurement is shown from the edge of the robe to hook. The hook and eye could be moved over closer to the edge of the robe to give you more room at the waist.

Condition: Very good - there is a 2" - 3" run on the left lapel but since it is in black and it will be worn at night, it should not be too noticeable.

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
